Abstract

The theme of the Reserve Bank of Australia's conference in 2016 was ‘Structural Change in China: Implications for Australia and the World’. The conference brought together senior central bankers, market economists, academics and industry representatives to discuss the likely effects of this change on commodity markets, trade and the global economy.
The conference had three main sections: First, a focus on China and the changes taking place there; second, investigating the likely effects of these changes on global commodity and financial markets; and third, examining the likely effects of these changes on the global economy.​
