The process of revising the personal status law in Morocco, which has been underway since 2001, represents the main challenge for the democratization and modernization of the country. The demands of the women's movement are based on a very pragmatic approach, which takes into account the specificities of the constraints of the democratic transition in Morocco. It is on the political will of those who hold office now to satisfy these demands that we will be able to evaluate their capacity to carry out the on-going projects of modernizing the political, social and economic life of the country.
