The Bauchi State AfDB-Assisted IBSDLEI Programme (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Project Implementation Unit’ or the ‘PIU’), wishes to construct three (3) Town Halls at Yelwan Duguri, Dagauda and Mashema townships in Bauchi State. Considering the importance, the PIU attaches to the protection of the environment as well as the health and safety of the host communities, and in order to comply with the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) safeguards policies, national and Bauchi States environmental policies, it commissions the preparation of an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) with a view to ascertaining the potential and associated impacts of the project on the environment and people’s health and well-being.
