The fast-aging population in the People's Republic of China needs home and health and long-term care facilities for frail, elderly people. Hospitals have an important coordinating role to play among health and LTC providers, but many are still not well-prepared and equipped to do so. Based on an assessment of hospitals in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, this brief offers policy recommendations to strengthen the capacity of hospitals in providing and coordinating geriatric care for the elderly.
