U.S.-Australia-Japan Trilateral Cooperation on Strategic Stability in the Taiwan Strait
Charles Edel, Christopher B. Johnstone 2024-10-14
China’s aggressive actions toward Taiwan, including military posturing, economic pressure, and coercive rhetoric, have heightened tensions and sparked global concern. Much more needs to be done through the trilateral relationship among the United States, Japan, and Australia to maintain stability in the Taiwan Strait. This report outlines key policy recommendations aimed at strengthening this alliance, enhancing coordination, and ensuring a robust and unified approach to countering threats and preserving peace in the region.
This report is made possible by support from the U.S. Embassy in Canberra.
